Use and Origin in mining
The Cardox principle was originally developed for use in underground mining – as a safe alternative to conventional explosives for removing blockages in shafts, bunkers and silos. This has proven to be a risk-free and precise solution, especially where high temperatures, confined spaces or explosive atmospheres rule out conventional methods.
With decades of experience and continuous further development “Made in Germany”, ATD-Abbausysteme GmbH has expanded and perfected the system: Today, the ATD-Pressure Gas System CARDOX is used worldwide – in the lime, steel and cement industries etc.
Whether for ring removal, silo unloading or breaking up caked bottlenecks – our comprehensive ATD-system ensures safe material flow, minimizes shutdowns and protects people and equipment.
typical problems
Build-ups in shelter & funnels | Material jam, conveyor standstill |
Large boulders or rock bridges | Mechanical evacuation often dangerous & time-consuming |
Narrow access & risk of explosion | Use of conventional explosives severely restricted |
Strenge Auflagen bei Sprengstofflagerung | Strict requirements for explosives storage |
Application areas of the ATD-system:
- Removing material blockages in shelter, silos, chutes, crushers
- Breaking up build-ups in hard-to-reach areas
- Safe use in gas atmospheres (e.g. mine gas)
- Tunnel and shaft area – targeted loosening instead of drill blasting
- Renovation & dismantling of old conveyor structures
