THE ATD DG TUBE
THE PRINCIPAL OF THE PROCEDURE


The tube head is used for filling the tube with
liquid CO₂. During operation, the firing cable
is connected here, allowing activation from a
safe distance. An integrated safety valve
provides additional operational safety.
When triggered, the ATD-DG Generator is
activated and combusts, converting the
liquid CO₂ into gaseous CO₂ within approx.
40 ms—resulting in a volume expansion
of around 500 times.
The tube middle section holds the CO₂. It is
designed to withstand the pressure
generated during DG generator combustion.
It also copes easily with the varying thermal
stresses encountered in customer operations.

The copper ring seals the area between the
tube middle section and the shear disc.
Shear disc
The disc is burst at precisely defined working
pressure upon activation.
The discharge head
releases the gaseous
CO₂ and breaks up

Our high-performance products
- ATD DG TUBES
The DG tubes stand out for robust materials and long-lasting reusability. They consist of a tube middle section, a tube head and a discharge head. We offer seven types of tubes with different capacities and dimensions. Find the perfect tube for any equipment.

Inside the tube middle section, the injected CO₂ undergoes a massive increase in pressure.

When the DG tubes are activated, the CO₂ is emitted via the discharge head.

The ATD tube head enables the DG tube to be filled safely and quickly with liquid CO₂.
- ATD Operating Material
The different DG tubes require customized operating material, consisting of: ATD-Pressure Gas Generators, CU-Rings and shear discs.

The ATD DG generators convert liquid carbon dioxide into gaseous CO₂.

The CU-Ring seal the area between the ATD tube body and the shear disc.

- ATD LOCKING SYSTEMS
The ATD CARDOX® Pressure Gas System delivers a high level of safety. This is achieved, in part, by our specially engineered locking system. It consists of a base socket and a gripcase.

Base socket
The base socket is securely installed at key points. It provides a safely hold during blasting. It provides a safe housing for the ATD pressure tubes.

Gripcase
The gripcase precisely fits our ATD tubes for reliable locking. Simple handling combines speed with safety.

Safety clap
Provides reliable protection against material blowback.
- ATD FILLING PUMPS AND FILLING COMPRESSORS

ATD tubes have to be filled with an adequate amount of CO₂ for their dimensions and volumes. Depending on plant requirements and conditions, ATD CARDOX® has developed three different types of filling pumps (FP) and a filling compressor.
- ATD DRILLING EQUIPMENT
Hard or thick build-ups make drilling an insertion port difficult. This demands specialized drilling equipment matched to the caliber of the ATD DG tubes. Even under extreme conditions. Good thing we come prepared.

Activating the ATD tubes requires voltage from an initiator. It is connected directly to the contacts on the tube head with a firing cable.

A safety circuit tester is required to verify the firing circuit and ensure full compliance with all safety precautions.
